About
Natalia Moreno Montecinos
I am a Registered Psychologist, and qualified Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Clinician. I am a mum to 2 human children and 1 canine fur baby by the name of Ziggy.

I have worked as a psychologist since 2007 providing counselling to individuals with complex mental health presentations all across South Western Sydney. Over the years, I have worked across many different hospital inpatient psychiatric settings, various acute crisis community mental health services and private practice settings.
I use a variety of therapeutic models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness Practice, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy and Attachment based interventions such as Positive Parenting, Circle of Security Parenting (COS-P) and Matre Meo to support the parent-infant relationship. Additionally, I have facilitated short term (4 to 10 weeks) and longer term (3 months to 2 years) group programs all across Sydney including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness Practice and Circle of Security Parenting groups. I have also facilitated psychotherapy and psychoeducational groups focusing on managing Depression, Anxiety and Birth Trauma (check out the Group Therapy section for more details about current groups I am running).

In 2014, early intervention became a special interest for my therapeutic work. I began working with expectant mother’s who later developed Postnatal Depression, Anxiety and Postpartum Psychosis. Working with women at their most vulnerable and most transformative time in their life had a profound impact on me personally. I soon dedicated my time to supporting women, their baby’s and their partners through the first years together to provide the earliest intervention possible and facilitate better outcomes for all. I was fortunate enough to grow my skills and experience through working with Tresillian and the NSW Health South West Sydney Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS). I still work part time for NSW Health as a Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Clinician with the South West Sydney Local Health District. I am also an accredited affiliate of The George Centre Private Hospital and Maternity Unit.
